Pat O’Connor is interim Elections director
The Minneapolis City Council approved the appointment of Pat O’Connor as interim elections director at their June 12 meeting. O’Connor, who has 30 years of experience in county leadership, will lead the City's Elections Department through the 2009 election.
From 1991 to 2006, O’Connor served as director of Hennepin County’s Taxpayer Services Department. In this role, he directed activities for four offices in the county, including auditor/treasurer, recorder, deputy registrar and surveyor. As part of his work, he oversaw many elections throughout the county and worked closely on a number of county election issues.
Prior to 1991, O’Connor held numerous roles in Hennepin County including acting associate county administrator, financial management and accounting division manager, senior financial management analyst and senior accountant. Since retiring from Hennepin County in 2006, O’Connor has chaired the Child Protection Task Force in Hennepin County and, most recently, served as interim Ramsey County manager.
O’Connor begins his work on Monday, June 15.
