The Circle of Vision gateway to welcome visitors to Hawthorne neighborhood

The Circle of Vision, Hawthorne neighborhood's new gateway that will welcome and entertain visitors to the North Minneapolis neighborhood will be dedicated at the Fairview Park, 26th Avenue North and Lyndale Avenue North at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 13. The community celebration will feature local drummers and refreshments.

Visitors can see the Downtown skyline through periscopes located inside the sculpture.

The Circle of Vision sculpture is the work of Minneapolis artists Norman Andersen and Katherine Schaefer and is modeled after

tower formally located in the park. The sculpture has built-in periscopes to view the skyline above the trees and also features large copper animals atop the tower's columns.

The Circle of Vision neighborhood gateway was created through the City of Minneapolis' Art in Public Places Program in partnership with Hawthorne neighborhood and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. There are 16 neighborhood gateways in Minneapolis.
