My Minneapolis survey: What’s next
More than 2,350 City employees took the My Minneapolis Employee Engagement Survey by the June 6 deadline. That’s approximately 64 percent of the workforce. Final survey participation numbers will be available June 20.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. The information you provided will be used to help improve our workplace. A special thanks to the departments that achieved 100 percent response rates: 311, Assessor, City Council and Clerk, City Coordinator, Civil Rights, Human Resources, Information Technology, Mayor’s Office, and Neighborhood and Community Relations.
Now that the survey is closed, the survey responses will be tabulated. IBM, the vendor that administered the survey, will compile the results from both the online and paper surveys and prepare a final report on the findings. This work will include the development of an overall City report as well as reports for each City department.
City-wide and department-specific survey results will be shared with you in July. Then the real work begins when the City and departments begin developing action plans based on the issues identified in the survey.
A group of City employees representing every City department (called the My Minneapolis Action Team) will receive training and:
- Work with their department head to communicate their department’s survey results.
- Discuss the survey findings.
- Help their department head develop an action plan based on survey results.
- Help carry out the action plan.
- Report progress on the action plan to their department head.
