Precincts host open houses for National Police Week

For National Police Week May 11-17, each of the City’s police precincts invites neighbors to drop by to meet officers, crime prevention specialists and the precinct commander. Visitors can tour the stations, check out police squad cars and emergency equipment, watch demonstrations of law enforcement techniques, see exhibits, pick up crime prevention information and enjoy free snacks.

National Police Week, designated by President John F. Kennedy and established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, recognizes the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement. National Police Week occurs each year during the week in which May 15 falls.
