Minneapolis Police Band trumpets 2014 concerts

Make plans to hear the award-winning Minneapolis Police Band perform a variety of free music from show tunes to marches, big-band hits to classical fare this year. The band, an inductee into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame, recently announced its 2014 concert calendar.

The Minneapolis Police Band consists of a concert band, a marching band and a swing band. Members include active and retired police officers as well as civilians.

Join the band

The Minneapolis Police Band always welcomes new members. If you enjoy making music with others and can play an instrument, the Minneapolis Police Band may be the band for you. The band particularly needs clarinet players and a lead trumpet player right now.

Band members must be at least 18 years old, have some musical ability and be able to pass a background check. The band’s regular rehearsal night is Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the 5th Precinct, 3101 Nicollet Ave. S. Auditions are not required. Call 612-673-5717 to learn more.
