Police, firefighters duke it out for a good cause

Minneapolis and Saint Paul police officers, firefighters and emergency responders will go toe-to-toe in a charity boxing match Saturday, March 1.

The event is open to the public and will include 16 to 18 bouts fought all in good fun to raise money for Minneapolis Police Officer Carlos Baires Escobar. Escobar is recovering from a kidney transplant.                                                     

Fists fly at 7 p.m. at Uppercut Boxing Gym in Northeast Minneapolis. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $20 at the door (cash only). Food, liquor, beer and more will be available to purchase.

Uppercut Boxing Gym is located at 1324 Quincy St. NE.
