Need to build your public speaking skills? Check out a Toastmasters club

City Hall has two Toastmasters clubs, and both welcome new participants.

Toastmasters is a learn-by-doing program, where participants practice meeting and speaking skills (giving a prepared or impromptu speech, or serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian). The goal is to provide a supportive and positive learning environment so that every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills.

If you are interested, there are two groups and meeting times to choose from:

The Russell H. Conwell Toastmasters group meets on Wednesdays at 7:15 a.m. in Room 319 of Minneapolis City Hall. For more information about this group, contact Jim Schneider at sectreas@russellhconwell.freetoasthost.biz or 952-835-3928.

The Roller Toasters Toastmasters club meets on Fridays at 7:30 a.m. in Room 333 of Minneapolis City Hall. For more information, contact Toni Newborn at toni.newborn@minneapolismn.gov
