Help grant a child’s wish this holiday season
You can brighten a child’s holiday this season by donating a gift to one of the children who has placed a gift wish on the wish tree in the mayor’s office reception area.
If you’d like to participate, simply stop by the mayor’s office and select a child’s wish from the tree. Each of the 65 wish tags lists a child’s first name, age and a gift that the child hopes to receive for the holidays. When you select a wish tag, you are volunteering to shop for that gift for that child. The effort is a partnership between the mayor’s office and Parents In Community Action/Head Start Kids.
Shoppers must bring the wrapped gift back to the mayor’s office by Monday, Dec. 16 (be sure to attach the tag with the child’s name) so that the gifts will be ready when the children come to pick up their gifts. The mayor’s reception area is located in Room 331, City Hall, 350 S. Fifth St.
