Enjoy singing? You’re invited to join the City County Chorus

If you enjoy singing, you’re invited to join the City County Chorus. Rehearsals resume Monday, Sept. 9 in preparation for a series of holiday concerts.

Any City, County or State employee who enjoys singing is welcome to join the chorus. There are no tryouts, and the ability to read music is not required.

The chorus’ repertoire includes holiday, seasonal and patriotic songs with piano accompaniment. The group performs over the lunch hour between Thanksgiving and New Year’s in various downtown locations, such as the Hennepin County Government Center, Minneapolis City Hall, Hennepin County Medical Center and US Bank Building. It also participates in one of the season’s Holidazzle Parades. This will be the 39th year that City, County and State court employees have come together to sing for the holiday season.

The chorus rehearses in the Hennepin County Government Center A-level auditorium (Room A0304) every Monday for about one hour between noon and 1 p.m. There may also be a few sectional or special rehearsals in November; these are typically held on Fridays over the noon hour.

Dues are $10 per year and are used to buy music, office supplies and incidentals. Participation is a City of Minneapolis approved activity.
