Learn how to create interactive maps and report data using MapIT

More 190 City employees are using MapIT, the City’s new online application that makes it easier to create interactive maps and report data. So far, employees have created and shared more than 750 maps and data documents thanks to MapIT.

MapIT Minneapolis is the City’s powerful new tool providing GIS capabilities to anyone without requiring GIS expertise or ArcGIS desktop software. Users can create interactive maps and easily share and embed them into department webpages and presentations using spreadsheets with address data. Users can create the maps and applications from a variety of data sources. Employees performing GIS editing will continue to need ArcGIS desktop software.

Accounts needed

Anyone can view MapIT maps, apps and data that have been made public. An account is needed if you wish to create, use, share data or view items that are only shared internally. To request an account, please contact the IT Service Desk.
