New system will make it easier to submit computer/software requests

Information Technology (IT) will be introducing a new IMAC system in June. (IMAC is the system employees use when they want to have software installed, a computer moved, hardware added or a change made to a workstation.)

IT staff anticipate that the new system — set to debut June 5 — will be simpler to use and take less time to create and submit requests.

Along with the new IMAC system, IT will be introducing a new Service Desk portal that will allow employees another option for opening a break/fix ticket, checking on the status of an open ticket, or submitting an IMAC request. This portal will also contain tips on how to use software and other self-help information.

IT is testing the new process now and will soon be posting training slides for the new IMAC system and portal on the IT webpage.
