Charitable Giving Campaign extended through Friday, Dec. 21
The organizers of the City’s annual Charitable Giving Campaign thank the employees who have already made a pledge during this year’s campaign. If you haven’t yet made a contribution, there’s still time. The campaign has been extended through Friday, Dec. 21 to give everyone a little more time to get their pledges in.
This campaign is an important initiative and our contributions can make a big difference. If each of the City’s 3,932 employees gave just $2 per paycheck, the total amount raised would be $204,464. It doesn’t matter how much you give. Every pledge counts!
The campaign raises needed funds to help organizations working to reduce homelessness, improve the environment, feed the hungry, find disease cures, help victims of violence, address bullying in schools and bolster the arts. Employees may donate to one of the nine participating charitable federations or any individual charity you wish to support, even if it is not listed in the campaign materials.
How to make a contribution
Through a payroll deduction
- Log onto CityTalk and click on HRIS.
- Go to HRIS’s sign-in page and enter your User ID and password.
- Click on the Self Service tab and then go to Payroll and Compensation – Voluntary Deductions.
- Click on Add Deduction. (You have the option of choosing the deduction to be taken from only one paycheck or from each paycheck throughout 2013.)
By writing a check
If you prefer, you can write a check to the charity of your choice. Then give the check to your department’s Charitable Campaign coordinator so it can be forwarded to that organization.
