Two public hearings remain before final budget adoption

The City Council’s budget markup process is scheduled for Dec. 4-5 with final approval of the 2013 budget scheduled for Dec. 12. Public hearings on the budget are set for Wednesday, Nov. 28, and Wednesday, Dec. 12. Both hearings will begin at 6:05 p.m. and will be held in room 317, City Hall, 350 S. Fifth 5th Street.

The City Council’s Ways & Means/Budget Committee has been holding formal budget hearings with every City department since September as it considers Mayor Rybak’s 2013 budget proposal.

To make it easy for Minneapolis residents to catch up on the budget discussion or learn more about individual department proposals before the upcoming public hearings, the City is rebroadcasting all of the budget hearings back-to-back every weekend through Dec. 9. For a broadcast schedule of hearings, go to www.minneapolismn.gov/tv/79schedule. You can also view the hearings online at http://www.minneapolismn.gov/tv/79.
