Mayor will deliver 2013 budget address today

Mayor R.T. Rybak will deliver his annual budget address at noon today in City Council Chambers. The Mayor’s 2013 budget calls for investments in infrastructure, public safety and reform, as well as in housing and economic development. Mayor Rybak also will highlight the success that City leaders and employees have had in working together to resolve long-standing issues, which have dramatically improved the City’s financial position over the past 10 years and kept property taxes down.

In the coming months, the City Council will deliberate on the City budget in preparation for adoption in December.

The budget address will be broadcast live on Minneapolis 79 and streamed live on www.minneapolismn.gov/tv/79. The speech will be rebroadcast on Minneapolis 79 on Wednesdays at noon, Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 8 p.m.
