It’s art fair weekend

This weekend, Minneapolis is the site of three art fairs: the Uptown Art Fair, the Loring Park Art Fair and the Powerhorn Art Fair.

Uptown Art Fair

The Uptown Art Fair, now in its 49th year, will feature 350 fine artists, a performance stage, wine garden, family activities and youth art show. The fair is located in Uptown at Lake and Hennepin and The Mall.

Friday, Aug. 3: noon – 8 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 4: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 5: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Loring Park Art Festival

The Loring Park Art Festival is a juried art festival featuring 140 visual artists displaying their original work, strolling musicians, stage performances, children's activities and food booths. Loring Park is located near downtown Minneapolis on the corner of Oak Grove St. and Hennepin Ave. (across from the Walker Art Center). 

Saturday, Aug. 4: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 5: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Powerhorn Art Fair

The Powderhorn Art Fair, now in its 21st year, features 184 regional and national artists, a Community Showcase and Group Exhibitors from the Powderhorn area, children’s activities, and musical performances. Powderhorn Park is located at 3400 15th Ave. S.

Saturday, Aug. 4: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 5:  10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Free bus service

If you don't want to deal with parking, you can download a free pass and then take a bus or light rail from your home or a nearby Park & Ride lot. You can also show your pass for easy bus rides between all three fairs. To download the pass, visit:  http://www.metrotransit.org/art-pass.aspx.
