Keep limber this summer - take a noon hour workout class
Did you know your muscles start to atrophy within 24 hour of non-use? If you don’t do a cardio and strength workout over summer, you will lose a lot of muscle tone by fall. Burn calories, reduce stress and increase your flexibility and strength, consider participating in one of the lunch hour fitness classes offered at the Grain Exchange, 400 S. 4th St., Suite 806, and at the IDS Center, Suite 605. All classes are held in from 12:10 to 12:55 p.m. New sessions begin June 18 and registration is recommended by June 14. Fees will be prorated if you join after a six-week session has begun. Fees for Zumba/Total Workout classes (6 sessions) are $42 and Yoga/Pilates classes (6 sessions) are $60.
Zumba classes are offered on Mondays at the Grain Exchange. Zumba is a cardio workout done to Latin and international dance moves.
Yoga classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursday (Chair/Yoga) at the Grain Exchange, and on Wednesdays at the IDS Center. Yoga improves flexibility, core strength, immune system and helps keep your organs healthy and releases stress.
Pilates classes are offered on Wednesdays at the Grain Exchange. Pilates can strengthen your core and tone your arms, legs and stomach.
Total Workout/Latin, Bollywood, Kickboxing
Total Workout classes are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at the IDS Center. Total Workout strengthens every muscle group.
