Police band to perform at Lakewood and Como Park
In the next few weeks, the Minneapolis Police Band will perform at these two events.

The Minneapolis Police Band will play before the program begins as well as during and after the ceremony. The Memorial Day service will be held near the Soldiers Memorial monument and will feature an address from Governor Mark Dayton, performances by a gospel quartet and the Minneapolis Police Band, dove release and color guard.
Visitors are encouraged to stay for free architectural tours, refreshments and classical music concerts in the afternoon.

About the Police Band
The Minneapolis Police Band is the official band of the City of Minneapolis. It plays a variety of music, from show tunes, marches and big band to classical. Formed in 1917, the band’s first parade was in the Armistice Day Parade November, 1918. The marching band has been the official escort band for the Minneapolis Aquatennial Parade since the parade began in 1940. In 2007 the Minneapolis Police Band was inducted into the Minnesota State Music Hall of Fame.
