Employee survey results coming soon
City staff will soon learn the results of the 2011 Employee Engagement Survey. Kenexa, the independent firm that conducted the survey for the City, has tallied the results and is finishing its report on the survey findings. The survey, which was conducted this fall, sought employees’ views on workplace recognition, fairness, resources, leadership, ethics and involvement.
On Jan. 18, Kenexa will present both the overall City findings as well as departmental results to department heads.
On Jan. 19, the results will be presented to the representatives from each department who serve on the Employee Survey Champions team. During the Jan. 19 training event, the survey champions will also talk about the process they will be using to prepare departmental action plans to respond to the issues identified by the survey. This survey follow-up process will continue throughout 2012.
Survey organizers also hope to have the survey results — both citywide and departmental — posted on CityTalk on Jan. 19 so that all employees can review the findings.
More than 2,500 City employees completed the 2011 employee survey. That 66 percent response rate set a new record for employee participation. In 2009, 61 percent of employees completed the survey and 63 percent completed the survey in 2006.
To view the 2011 survey results when they become available or to see what each department did in response to the 2009 employee survey, visit the Employee Survey website on CityTalk.
