Community meetings: How to reach 100% renewable electricity

Join City of Minneapolis staff to discuss how to achieve the City’s goal of 100% renewable electricity communitywide by 2030. This ambitious goal is part of the City’s strategy to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and create a healthier, stronger and more resilient community.

Reaching 100% renewable electricity will require transforming our approaches to buying, using and potentially producing electricity. The City is launching these meetings to hear from Minneapolis residents on how this energy transition could directly benefit the economy of our communities and ways to build wealth.

The City invites residents to help set goals for this energy transformation, define the benefits, set the priorities and discuss potential strategies to reach the goals. The City values your input in determining how it moves forward with its 100% renewable electricity vision.

Everyone is invited to these three decision-making working group meetings. These meetings kick off this project’s community engagement process and continue the City’s commitment to the work you have been doing.

100% renewable electricity working group meetings

The City is committed to community-centered and community-first approaches to planning and is also reaching community members directly to increase participation in the decision-making process by partnering with community organizations and community leaders.
