Meetings set for City Council to consider and vote on draft ordinance

A public hearing May 18 on a draft ordinance for a municipal paid sick and safe time policy is set as part of a specially scheduled meeting of the City Council’s Committee of the Whole. A second special Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for May 26 to consider, amend and vote on the paid sick and safe time ordinance with a vote taking action on the ordinance at the regular full City Council meeting May 27.

The public hearing and meetings will take up a draft ordinance for a municipal paid sick and safe time policy, along with a set of recommendations for a program to administer a municipal paid sick and safe time policy.

All meetings will take place in the City Council Chamber, Room 317, City Hall, 350 S. Fifth St.

·         Public hearing at special meeting of the City Council’s Committee of the Whole:
3 p.m., Wednesday, May 18

·         Special meeting of the City Council’s Committee of the Whole to consider, amend and vote on the paid sick and safe time ordinance:
Noon, Thursday, May 26

·         Full City Council meeting taking action on the paid sick and safe leave ordinance:
9:30 a.m., Friday, May 27
