Minneapolis 311 adds weekend hours

To provide even better service to residents and visitors in Minneapolis, the Minneapolis 311 contact center is adding weekend hours. Now, callers can also dial 311 for City information and services from 8 am. – 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Since April 2010, Minneapolis 311’s contact center has answered calls from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, but not during the weekends. Those who called 311 after hours or on the weekends were able to leave a message, and a contact center agent would help them the following business day.

In the last few years, Minneapolis 311 vastly improved its online service options, and it developed a 311 mobile application in 2012. These self-service options make it possible for more people to request service and access information on their own, without needing to reach a 311 agent. Through the mobile app, folks are able to report a number of issues to Minneapolis 311, including:

The mobile app is free and available for download to iPhone, Android and Blackberry smartphones.

Just recently, Minneapolis 311 passed an important milestone: it answered its three-millionth call since it began service in January 2006.
