Public hearings set for department head reappointments


Several City of Minneapolis department heads are under consideration for reappointment this year, and a number of public hearings have been scheduled as City Council Committees consider those reappointments.


The hearings will be held to consider reappointment to the following appointed positions, for two-year terms, at the dates and times listed below. All hearings are held in the City Council Chamber, room 317 of City Hall, 350 S. Fifth St.:


March 3 at 1:30 p.m. - Ways & Means Committee

Patrick Todd as City Assessor and Susan Segal as City Attorney


March 17 at 1:30 p.m. - Health, Environment & Community Engagement Committee  

Gretchen Musicant as Commissioner of Health/Director of Department of Health


March 18 at 9:30 a.m. - Transportation & Public Works Committee
Steve Kotke as City Engineer/Director of Public Works


March 19 at 1:30 p.m. - Public Safety, Civil Rights & Emergency Management Committee

John Fruetel as Chief of Fire Department and Velma Korbel as Director of Civil Rights
