East Minnehaha Pkwy between Cedar and 28th avenues closing Sept. 16 for resurfacing
Beginning Monday, Sept. 16, East Minnehaha Parkway between Cedar Ave. and 28th Ave. S. will be closed for approximately three weeks for resurfacing.
During this time a detour will be in place. Eastbound Parkway traffic will be detoured onto northbound Cedar Avenue. Westbound Parkway traffic will be detoured onto northbound 28th Ave. S. All traffic will then use 42nd St. E. as the east-west alternative to the Parkway.
Access to Nokomis Recreation Center will be maintained as much as possible during this project from either 28th Ave. S. or from Cedar Ave. S. It is anticipated that there will be a couple of days that East Minnehaha Parkway will be completely closed while the final two layers of asphalt are placed. It is recommended that Lake Nokomis Parkway be used for access during this time. Visit the project website for regular updates and maps that will show how to access the Nokomis Community Center.
For residents and businesses between 27th Ave. S., Woodlawn Blvd., and 28th Ave. S., local north-south access will be available at 27th Ave. S. and Woodlawn Blvd.
