Construction companies holding information sessions for new, Downtown multi-purpose stadium
If you're interested in the construction of the new multi-purpose stadium in downtown Minneapolis, there are some upcoming meetings around the state where you can learn all about the process.
The new Minnesota Multi-Purpose Stadium Construction Manager, Mortenson Construction, will be holding information sessions with project partner Thor Construction around the state to provide an overview of the project including introducing the project team, reviewing the project schedule and explaining the procurement opportunities and timeline. The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and the Minnesota Vikings announced July 24 that the information sessions will be held in Minneapolis, Rochester, Duluth and Mankato.
The legislation enabling the construction of a new stadium sets goals for minority and women owned business participation of 11 percent and 9 percent owned businesses respectively. The legislation also sets goals for workforce participation of 32 percent minority and 6 percent women in the construction phase. The Construction Services Agreement Equity Plan also establishes a Veterans Inclusion Program to include veteran owned businesses and veterans in the workforce of construction of the new stadium.
