Minneapolis residents can catch up on 2013 budget recommendations

To give folks the chance to get a more in-depth picture of how Mayor R.T. Rybak’s 2013 budget proposal will impact City services, the City will rebroadcast all 2013 budget hearings on Minneapolis Channel 79 over the last two weekends of November.

Since September, the City Council’s Ways & Means/Budget Committee has been holding formal budget hearings with every City department as it considers Mayor Rybak’s 2013 budget proposal. The City will rebroadcast all of the department budget hearings back-to-back on Minneapolis 79 Nov. 17-18 and Nov. 24-25. Two opportunities for public comment

Before the budget’s approval, the City Council will hold two public hearings to give folks a chance to comment on the proposed 2013 budget.

The City Council’s budget mark-up process is scheduled for Dec. 4-5 with final approval of the 2013 budget scheduled for Dec. 12. Folks can learn more about the proposed 2013 budget process on the City’s website and also view the complete proposed 2013 budget.

Budget Hearings Marathon schedule

Each department budget hearing will air twice during each weekend. The schedule is as follows:
