Watch City budget hearings on Minneapolis 79

Mayor R.T. Rybak presented his 2013 recommended budget to the City Council Wednesday, Aug. 15 with a proposed 1.7 percent property tax increase. The City Council will consider this budget from September through December and final approval of the 2013 budget is scheduled for Wednesday, December 12.

The 2013 Ways & Means budget hearings for City departments begin Thursday, Sept. 19 and take place in City Hall, Room 317. These hearings will be broadcast live on Minneapolis 79 and also stream live on the City’s website.

The City of Minneapolis has also tentatively scheduled two public comment hearings on the proposed 2013 property tax levy and budget:
