Between 1980 and 2000, Victory's labor force participation rate (people 16 years old or older who were employed, unemployed and seeking a job, or in the armed forces) rose from 61 percent to 72 percent. Victory's labor force participation rate remained lower than Minneapolis' in both 1980 and 1990, but by 2000 it caught up.
In 2000 the unemployment rate in the neighborhood was 3.2 percent, lower than the citywide rate of 5.8 percent. The rate fell from a high of 11.4 percent in 1990 to much nearer its 1980 rate of 3.5 percent.
