Labor force

Between 1980 and 2000, fewer people participated in the labor force in the neighborhood than in the city. They both followed the same trend though, increasing the proportion of their residents who were either working or looking for a job.

In 1980 and 2000, the neighborhood had lower unemployment than the city did. But in 1990 it peaked at 7.4 percent, surpassing the city rate of 6.7 percent.
