Sheridan's labor force participation rate was nearly identical to Minneapolis' between 1980 and 2000, increasing from 65 percent of all people 16 years and older to 72 percent.

Sheridan's unemployment rate was consistently lower than Minneapolis' between 1980 and 2000. The trend lines for the neighborhood and city peaked in 1990. Neighborhood unemployment doubled between 1980 and 1990 but then dropped to 5.7 in 2000, slightly below the city rate.
