Between 1980 and 2000, Page's population decreased while the City of Minneapolis population increased. Page's population in 2000 was 7 percent less than in 1980. The City of Minneapolis over the same period had a 3 percent increase.

By 2000, fewer children and adolescents and fewer seniors lived in the neighborhood. The first group declined by 22 percent and the second group declined by 45 percent. The resident adult population increased at the same time by almost 10 percent, but it could not offset the loss in the first two groups.

The ethnic characteristics of the population changed only slightly overall from 1980 to 2000. The white population remained the majority from 1980 to 2000, even as it fell 11 percent. All the other ethnic groups were very small, but they increased fast.
