Linden Hills' overall population loss can be attributed to declines in its youth and senior residents. Between 1980 and 2000, the neighborhood lost almost 32 percent of its school-age population

The Linden Hills neighborhood has a primarily white population, however, the proportion of whites to minorities is gradually decreasing. After no change from 1980 to 1990, the Hispanic population significantly increased in 2000. The Asian population grew appreciably in both 1990 and 2000.
