Holland's population increased slightly more than Minneapolis' between 1980 and 2000, adding 196 residents to the neighborhood.

Holland's population became younger from 1980 to 2000. The child and adult population increased 6 percent and 13 percent respectively. In particular, the school-age group (5 to 17 years old), grew by 16 percent. The senior population decreased 32 percent.

Holland experienced a significant change in ethnic distribution between 1980 and 2000. The populations of all ethnic groups except whites increased during this period. The white population was 97 percent of the population in 1980 and 69 percent in 2000. The second and third largest ethnic groups were Hispanics and blacks at 10 percent and 8 percent respectively.
