Census data show East Harriet having small population increases in 1990 and 2000. The overall increase for this time period was 3.5 percent, which is slightly larger than the citywide increase of 3.1 percent.

The population of East Harriet got older between 1980 and 2000. The adult and senior populations increased by 7 percent each, while the younger population decreased by almost 15 percent.
