Between 1980 and 2000, Bryant's labor force participation rate increased with the citywide rate. Both the neighborhood and the city had the same proportions in 1980 and 1990. However, by 2000 Bryant's rate grew to 74 percent, two points higher than the city's.
Bryant has higher unemployment than the city, but in 1980 it was only 0.7 percent higher. In 1990, at a high of 10.8 percent, it was 4.1 percent higher than in the city as a whole. In 2000 the rate fell in the neighborhood to 7.2 percent, only 1.4 percent higher than the citywide rate.
