The percentage of people living below the poverty level in Bancroft remained significantly lower than the Minneapolis figure between 1980 and 2000. The neighborhood recorded its lowest level in 1990 at 6 percent; the city reached its highest level the same year at 19 percent. Bancroft's percentage of people 65 years and over under the poverty level also remained below the Minneapolis figure between 1980 and 2000 by a large margin.
