Neighborhood Funding Work Group Progress

Work is continuing on multiple fronts to make sure neighborhood programs are supported into the future, and the next few weeks will bring additional progress updates to the City Council and the Neighborhood and Community Engagement Commission.

The Neighborhood Funding Work Group of the City Council is continuing to meet regularly to move this work forward, and we anticipate having a report for the public and City Council in early March. That update will offer options for carrying out the Council’s budget directive for 2011 related to neighborhoods. I will let you know when the update is available and when it will be presented to the City Council. As the process continues, there will also be a number of opportunities for neighborhood engagement and input.

The Neighborhood and Community Engagement Commission (NCEC) will be developing an engagement plan to involve neighborhoods in addressing equity issues and reprogramming funds. The Neighborhood and Community Engagement Commission will be developing the neighborhood engagement plan at their February meetings. Find out more about NCEC meetings. The neighborhood engagement plan will be part of the update presented to the City Council in early March.
