Tangletown 4th of July Festival
Celebrate our biggest summer holiday at the annual Tangletown parade and party. The parade begins at Washburn High School, and ends at Fuller Park. There will be food, games, face painting, music, socializing and so much more!
Powderhorn 4th of July Celebration
Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association (PPNA) and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board are collaborating to put on the annual Fireworks Celebration at Powderhorn Park. As always, there will be music, food and fun for the entire family.
Kingfield Gardens Walking Tour on Thursday, July 11
Join Kingfield residents for a self-guided tour of neighborhood gardens. Gardeners, designers, and families will be on hand to answer questions about their gardens. After the tour, enjoy refreshments and entertainment at the Pleasant Community Garden located at the Center for Performing Arts.
Live on the Drive on Thursday, July 11
Live on the Drive is a summer evening concert series featuring live music on Victory Memorial Drive. The next show in this series features the Chastity Brown Band. Live on the Drive is brought to you by the Cleveland Neighborhood Association, the Victory Neighborhood Association, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, and other generous donors.

Twin Cities Pride Festival on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30
Attend the Twin Cities Pride Festival! The theme of this year's festival is "I have pride”. The Beer Dabbler kicks off the Festival on Friday night. The Festival continues with Pride in Concert and fireworks on Saturday night. The Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade is Sunday.
Somali Independence Day Festival on Sunday, June 30
Attend this outdoor celebration commemorating Somali Independence. This has always been a memorable day for Somalis living here in the United States – both for celebrating their nation’s independence and also for paying homage to the country that gave them a new life. Throughout the day the public will experience live music featuring local, national and international artists; art gallery exhibits; live animals; and authentic Somali food.

Preserve Minneapolis tours offer a unique peek into the history and variety of neighborhoods that color our urban landscape. Tours are led by knowledgeable volunteers and typically cost $8 per person. Tours fill up quickly – register now for tours held through September.
FLOW is accepting proposals from Northsiders to exhibit or perform in select venues along West Broadway as part of the Northside Arts Crawl on July 26 – 28. FLOW Northside Arts Crawl is both a community celebration and premier art event in North Minneapolis that features self-guided tours of studios, galleries, theaters, commercial and vacant spaces along North Minneapolis’ main business corridor. From b-boys to ballet, graffiti to graphite, rap to rhapsody, fine artist to artisan, practicing to professional, FLOW showcases the great art being made every day on the Northside.
Employment opportunities at the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center (MIWRC)
MIWRC currently has employment opportunities for a Treatment Director and Clinical Supervisor (LADC) for the Nokomis Endaad Program. Opportunities are also available for a Childcare Float Teacher and Infant Teacher in the Cherish the Children Program and a Mental Health Case Manager for the Sacred Journey Program.

Hennepin County Mend-it Clinic on Saturday, June 29
This “fix-it clinic” will be a "mend-it" clinic. Bring your clothing and other soft goods that need mending or altering, and a volunteer with sewing skills will help you repair them so you can put them back into use.
Red, White and Boom on Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4
Celebrate America's Independence Day at Minneapolis Red, White and Boom, a two-day celebration hosted by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The annual event attracts over 30,000 people to sites along the downtown Minneapolis riverfront, and features live music, great food, fun activities for the whole family, and the grand finale - fireworks!
Help shape the regional bikeway system – workshop on Thursday, July 11
The Metropolitan Council and Minnesota Department of Transportation are leading a Regional Bicycle System Master Study to improve the region’s network of on-road and off-road facilities. Come provide ideas and insights to help shape a bikeways system aimed at connecting regional destinations across the metro area.
Picture a Park Photo Contest – free photo classes on Saturday, July 20

The Picture a Park Photo Contest returns for its 4th year! The contest is designed to highlight the year-round beauty, events and fun throughout Minneapolis' parks. Winners can receive a National Camera gift card, photo enlargement, parking permit, park pass or a 2014 calendar featuring winning photos. Photographs will be judged on impact, image quality, composition and storytelling. Four free classes are being offered this summer. Space is limited, so register today!
30th Annual Minneapolis National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6
Register your event for free through Tuesday, July 23
National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that encourages residents to get out in the community, hold block parties, and get to know their neighbors. It's a great way to encourage crime prevention, promote community-police partnerships, and enjoy a Minnesota summer evening surrounded by friends and family. Have your street blocked off at no charge by registering your event by July 23.
Music and Movies in the Park – series continues through September 2
Enjoy more than 250 free concerts and movies in Minneapolis parks this summer. Music runs seven days a week from May 27 through September 2, with concerts at five different venues. Movies are held Mondays - Saturdays, June 7 through August 24. Full schedules are available on the website. Take a night to relax in your parks; bring a blanket or chair, pack a picnic, and don’t forget your bug spray!
