Public Hearings

1. Jason McLean (1116 Vincent Ave S):

Appeal filed from the decision of the Board of Adjustment denying variance applications to reduce the required front yard along Vincent Ave S from the setback established by connecting a line between the two adjacent structures of 75 feet to 50 feet to allow for an enclosed walkway, and to reduce the setback to 10 feet to allow for a parking area at the subject property (Ward 7).

Action Taken: Recommend to grant the appeal

Consent Items

2. Minneapolis Public School Education Service Center (2105 & 2119 Fremont Ave N):

Approve petition to rezone the properties from R4 and R5 to the OR2 High Density Office Residence District to allow for construction of a new district office building (Ward 5).

Action Taken: Recommend to approve rezoning

3. Probation House Rezoning (2539 Irving Ave N):

Deny petition by Jordan Area Community Council to rezone the property from R1A to the OR1 Neighborhood Office Residence District to allow for an office use to continue operating in the existing structure (Ward 5).

Action Taken: Sent forward without recommendation

4. Lars Peterssen (20 Park Lane):

Approve application, notwithstanding the recommendation of staff, for a historic variance to allow for a third story addition and to allow for an addition that does not meet the minimum window requirements (Ward 7).

Action Taken: Recommend to approve historic variance

5. Combative Sports (Zoning Code Text Amendment):

Subject matter of ordinances amending Title 20 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Zoning Code, (to establish zoning regulations for combative sports), as follows:
a) Amending Chapter 520 related to Introductory Provisions;
b) Amending Chapter 525 related to Administration & Enforcement;
c) Amending Chapter 536 related to Specific Development Standards;
d) Amending Chapter 537 related to Accessory Uses and Structures;
e) Amending Chapter 549 related to Downtown Districts.

Recommended Action/Action Taken: Referred to CPED/Planning Division

6. Clothing Bins (Zoning Code Text Amendment):

Subject matter of ordinances amending Title 20 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Zoning Code, (to authorize clothing collection bins as an accessory use), as follows:
a) Amending Chapter 525 related to Administration and Enforcement;
b) Amending Chapter 537 related to Accessory Uses and Structures.

Recommended Action/Action Taken: Referred to CPED/Planning Division
