Consent Items

1. Edward J. Bock III (vicinity of 4301 Ewing Ave S):

Approve application to vacate alley right-of-way between Ewing and Drew Aves S from 42nd St W to Ewing Ave S by way of a 90 degree angle turn in the alley at the south end of the block, subject to easement rights (Ward 13).

Action Taken: Approved.

2. Paul Hyde, on behalf of Humboldt Investors, LLC (Humboldt Industrial Park, 2601 49th Ave N):

Approve application to rezone property from I2 to the I1 district to permit a industrial office/warehouse building (Ward 4).

Action Taken: Approved.

3. Artist in Residence in Transit Corridors:

Authorize a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Public Artist(s) for CPED Artist in Residence in Transit Corridors and enter into an agreement with the selected artist, in an amount not to exceed $60,000 ( Also in Ways & Means/Budget

Action Taken: Approved.

4. Relocation of Public Benches:

Direct staff to relocate Oasis bench to the Leamington Transit Hub, Chippendale bench to the bus stop in front of 1413 Nicollet Ave S and, Minneapolis Water Toy bench to 2 nd Ave S and the Convention Center Plaza.

Action Taken: Approved.

Postponed Items/Upcoming Public Hearing

5. Dan Radunz (Radunz Residence, 5912 Girard Ave S):

Appeal filed from decision of the Planning Commission denying applications for a) conditional use permit to locate development within 50 feet of any protected water (wetland) and to allow development within 40 feet of the top of a steep slope; & b) variance to permit development in the Shoreland Overlay District within 50 feet of a protected water and within 40 feet of the top of a steep slope (Ward 13) ( Z&P Action 2/16/06: Postponed until 4/06/06-Public hearing continued).
