1.   247 Chicago Avenue South (BZZ #5910, Ward 7) (Steen)
Appeal: Application by Eric H. Galatz, on behalf of Megabus USA, LLC, for an appeal of the Zoning Administrator’s determination that the bus passenger loading and unloading at 247 Chicago Avenue South is classified as a Bus Turnaround under the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances, thus requiring a conditional use permit (CUP).
Action: The Board of Adjustment continued the appeal of the Zoning Administrator’s determination that the bus passenger loading and unloading at 247 Chicago Avenue is classified as a Bus Turnaround under the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances, thus requiring a conditional use permit (CUP), two-cycles to the March 21, 2013, Board of Adjustment public hearing.
2.   1109 7th Street Southeast (BZZ #5917, Ward 3) (Sether)
Variance: Daniel Perkins on behalf of KLP Real Estate, LLC, has applied for a variance to reduce the minimum lot area requirement from 10,000 square feet to approximately 9,480 square feet (5.2%) to allow for the conversion from a single-family dwelling to a two-family dwelling located at 1109 7th Street Southeast in the R2B Two-Family District and UA University Area Overlay District
Action: The Board of Adjustment continued the variance request to reduce the minimum lot area requirement from 10,000 square feet to approximately 9,480 square feet (5.2%) to allow for the conversion from a single-family dwelling to a two-family dwelling located at 1109 1109 7th Street Southeast in the R2B Two-Family District and UA University Area Overlay District, one-cycle, to the February 28, 2013, Board of Adjustment public hearing.

Recommendations for the 2013 BOA appointments are scheduled for the March 7 City Council meeting, requesting approval of Eric Johannessen to a new first term and the reappointment of Dick Sandberg to a third term. Eric’s first BOA meeting is expected to be March 21, 2013. (Sether)
