Consent

1. Hennepin County All-Hazards Mitigation Plan:

Approve Resolution adopting the Plan.

Action Taken: Approved.

2. Bicycle/Pedestrian-Focused Media Campaign in North Minneapolis:

Execute contract with Mod & Company to assist with development, implementation and evaluation of a media campaign in North Minneapolis to increase residents' awareness of the biking and walking resources available in their community. (Refer to W&M/Budget)

Action Taken: Postponed.

3. Senior Citizen Advisory Committee:

Approve Mayoral/City Council appointment of Roland Minda, representing Member at Large, for two-year term to expire December 31, 2013.

Action Taken: Approved.

4. Youth Violence Prevention Executive Committee:

Approve the following Mayoral appointments and reappointments for two-year terms to expire December 31, 2012:

Appointments -- Craig Vana, Ward 1; Richard Howell Jr, Ward 5 work;
Mary Johnson, Ward 5; Bianca Dawkins, Ward 7 work; Soua Lor, Ward 9 work; Gary Cunningham (Ward 10); Sherenia Gibbs, Ward 3 work;

Maria Munoz, Ward 7 work.

Reappointments -- Ed Anderson, Ward 5 work; Dale Blyth, Ward 2 work;
Peter Benson, Ward 3 work; VJ Smith, Ward 8 work; Sondra Samuels, Ward 5; Eloisa Echavez, Ward 9 work; Bill Ziegler, Ward 9 work; Cam Gordon, Ward 2.

Action Taken: Approved.

5. Donation of Travel Expenses:

a. Accept donation of travel expenses to send four City employees to Eldoret, Kenya to conduct firefighting training (estimated value $8,400).

b. Approve donation of surplus firefighting supplies to the City of Eldoret.

Action Taken: Approved.

Public Hearing

6. Dog and Cat Licensing:

Subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 4, Chapter 64 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Animals and Fowl: Dogs, Cats, Ferrets, and Rabbits, amending the license period for a dog or cat license (Goodman).

Action Taken: Approved.

Discussion

7. Civil Fines for Failure to License Dogs and Cats:

Amend civil fine schedule to increase the fine for failure to license dog or cat from $100 to $200.

Action Taken: Approved.

8. Fire Prevention Bureau:

Progress report on integration, training programs, and performance of all inspection programs between the Fire Prevention Bureau and the Department of Regulatory Services. (Also in RE&E)

Action Taken: Approved.

9. Motion adopted to direct the Police Department to report back at the next meeting (December 1st) with an update on the changes in assignment for the Sector Lieutenants.
