I. Call to Order
At 6:03 p.m., the regular meeting of the Civilian Review Authority Board was called to order by Vice Chair Wetternach.
II. Approval of Agenda
Kvidera moved agenda approval. Motion seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
III. Approval of Minutes
Vice Chair Wetternach turned the Chair over to Chair Briscoe. Cichowicz moved minutes from the regular July 11, 2012 meeting approval. Motion seconded. Approved by consensus with Giraud and Wetternach abstaining.
Board Chair Report: Chair Briscoe noted a revised hearing schedule has been emailed to the board members.
Monthly Work Report: AD Reid specifies the statistics listed in the Monthly Report. Twenty-five complaints were scheduled for hearing in August to alleviate backlogged cases waiting for hearing.
Committee Report: None
AD Reid stated there will be three community meetings held to get public feedback on the proposed CRA ordinance changes. The meetings will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the following dates: Aug. 1, Aug. 16 and Aug. 21. The first and the last meeting will be held in City Hall Room 319. The second meeting will be held at Shiloh Temple International Ministries.
AD Reid also announced his resignation, effective Aug. 14, 2012.
Wetternach moved the CRA Board thank AD Reid for his leadership and dedication to civilian oversight. Motion second. Motion passed unanimously.
VI. Old Business
Discussion: Chair Briscoe affirmed the Board would like to speak with potential Police Chief Harteau. Kvidera inquired about the Mayor’s response to the Board’s letter in July 2012, which is still pending.

There is no new business.
VIII. Public invitation
Invitation to interested persons to address the CRA on matters on and not on the agenda (each speaker is limited to a three-minute presentation, or as determined by the chair)
Michelle Gross of Communities United Against Police Brutality addressed the Board members about the upcoming community meetings and about doing proactive research regarding police misconduct. Kenneth Brown addressed the Board about the continued issue of police misconduct among officers and supervisors. Chuck Turchick addressed the Board about the Business Process Improvement proposal, and pending litigation concerning police misconduct.
Adjournment at 6:30 p.m., moved by Giraud. Motion seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
