Regular Meeting of the Minneapolis Community Development Agency

Minutes of January 16, 2004

The Commissioners of the Minneapolis Community Development Agency met in Regular Meeting in Room 317 City Hall, Minneapolis, Minnesota on the 16th day of January, 2004, immediately following adjournment of the City Council meeting, the place date and time duly established for the holding of such meeting.

The Chairperson called the meeting to order, the following being present:

Chairperson Goodman declared a quorum present.

Commissioner Benson moved to accept the minutes of the Regular Meeting held December 29, 2003. Seconded. Accepted.

Commissioner Benson introduced resolutions regarding the sale of land in the Vacant Housing Recycling Program, Model Cities/Bryant-Regina Urban Renewal Project, and the Willard Homewood Urban Renewal Project:

Commissioner Benson then moved approval of Documents 2004-01M through 2004-03M. Seconded.

On a roll call vote, the following voted "aye:"

Benson, Colvin Roy, Johnson, Johnson Lee, Lane, Lilligren, Niziolek, Ostrow, Samuels, Schiff, Zerby, Zimmermann, Goodman - 13.

The following voted "nay:" None.

Chairperson Goodman declared that the motion passed and the documents were adopted. Approved by the Mayor on January 22, 2004, and filed as follows:

Document No. 2004-01M - Adopt Resolution No. 2004-2865M selling 2315 Ilion Avenue North to Gendeco, LLC for $15,600 for single-family construction, with staff direction to double fenestration on rear of building. (Glasper)

Document No. 2004-02M - Adopt Resolution No. 2004-2866M selling 2122 Fremont Avenue North to Drum Major Building, Inc. for $15,800 for single-family construction. (Glasper)

Document No. 2004-03M - Adopt Resolution No. 2004-2867M selling 2929 14th Avenue South to The Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation for $19,600 for single-family construction. (Oliveto Oates)

Commissioner Johnson Lee moved approval of Documents No. 2004-04M and 2004-05M. Seconded.

On a roll call vote, the following voted "aye:"

Colvin Roy, Johnson, Johnson Lee, Lane, Lilligren, Niziolek, Ostrow, Samuels, Schiff, Zerby, Zimmermann, Goodman - 12.

The following voted "nay:" Benson - 1.

Chairperson Goodman declared that the motion passed and the documents were adopted. Approved by the Mayor on January 22, 2004, and filed as follows:

Document No. 2004-04M - Adopt Resolution No. 2004-2868M selling 1337 Newton Avenue North to Northside Residents Redevelopment Council for $17,500 for new construction, to be sold at market rate with conditions. (Johnson)

Document No. 2004-05M - Adopt Resolution No. 2004-2869M selling 1400 Morgan Avenue North to Northside Residents Redevelopment Council for $17,000 for new construction, to be sold at market rate with conditions. (Johnson)

Commissioner Benson moved to postpone consideration of Section 4, Disposition for Redevelopment, and Section 10 to the MCDA Real Property Disposition Policy. Seconded and postponed.

There being no further business to come before the meeting, upon motion made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned.
