Finance Office

1. State Pension Legislation - Local Approval Requirements:

a) Approve Mpls Police Relief Association (MPRA) unit value changes (Chapter 271, Article 9, Sec 2) & re-computation of disabled benefits for MPRA members (Chapter 271, Article 9, Sec 3).

Action Taken: Approved recommendation.

b) Do not approve increase in MPRA Board member compensation (Chapter 271, Article 9, Sec 1).

Action Taken: Approved recommendation to not approve.

c) Approve Mpls Employees Retirement Fund (MERF) Service Credit Purchase (Chapter 271, Article 14, Sec 14).

2. Homeless Assistance Tax Increment District - Local Approval Requirement:

Approve the Mpls tax increment provision related to homeless prevention that was includes in the 2006 omnibus tax act (Laws 2006 Chapter 259 Article 10 Section 14).

Action Taken: Approved.

3. Omnibus Liquor Legislation - Local Approval Requirement:

a) Approve legislation regarding the issuance of an on-sale wine and an on-sale malt liquor license to the Minnesota Book and Literary Arts Building, Inc.’s concessionaire or operator, for a restaurant and catering operator on the premises of the Minnesota Book and Literary Arts Building, Inc. (dba Open Book) (Laws 2006, Chapter 210, Section 8).

Action Taken: Approved.

b) Approve legislation regarding the issuance of an on-sale intoxicating liquor license to a restaurant located at 5411 Penn Ave S (Laws 2006, Chapter 210, Section 8).
