CALL TO ORDER

APPROVAL OF ACTIONS FROM THE JANUARY 8, 2019 MEETING

                The Heritage Preservation Commission approved the actions from the January 8, 2019 meeting.

This item was continued from the December 11, 2018 and January 8, 2019 meetings.

The Heritage Preservation Commission adopted staff findings for the applications by Richard Goldman.

A.      Certificate of Appropriateness.

Recommended motion: Approved the certificate of appropriateness to alter the existing structure

including replacing a damaged front porch, replacing existing windows, replacing siding on the

rear façade, and installing new mechanical equipment in the Washburn Fair Oaks Historic District,

subject to the following conditions:

1.       The applicant shall comply with all conditions of approval adopted by the Heritage Preservation Commission at its meeting on June 19th, 2018 for PLAN6600, with the exception of conditions 7, and 9.

2.       New mechanical penetrations shall be painted to match the exterior as closely as possible in color.

3.       By ordinance, approvals are valid for a period of two years from the date of the decision unless required permits are obtained and the action approved is substantially begun and proceeds in a continuous basis toward completion. Upon written request and for good cause, the planning director may grant up to a one year extension if the request is made in writing no later than January 22nd, 2021.

4.       By ordinance, all approvals granted in this certificate of appropriateness shall remain in effect as long as all of the conditions and guarantees of such approvals are observed. Failure to comply with such conditions and guarantees shall constitute a violation of this certificate of appropriateness and may result in termination of the approval.

5.       The sill height of the second window on the second floor shall match the other windows.

6.       The columns shall be cylindrical and tapered with an appropriate capital and base to be reviewed and approved by Community Planning and Economic Development staff.

The Heritage Preservation Commission adopted staff findings for the applications by D-Bold Investments, LLC.

A.      Certificate of Appropriateness.

Recommended motion: Approved the certificate of appropriateness to allow fire escape and window/door opening modifications and new balconies, subject to the following conditions:

1.       Mortar shall duplicate the original mortar’s composition, color, texture, joint width, and joint profile.

2.       Glazing shall be clear and without wire.  Low E and other energy-efficient glazing is acceptable.

3.       Community Planning and Economic Development staff shall review and approve the final plans and elevations prior to building permit issuance.
