This item was continued from the June 18 Heritage Preservation Commission meeting.
Alex Haecker, with AWH Architects, has submitted a Certificate of Appropriateness application on behalf of 219 LLC, the property owner. The Certificate of Appropriateness application is to allow for a rehabilitation of the Northwestern Glass Company Building that includes the following proposed work: enlarge window openings and install new windows on a secondary elevation, new signage, repointing of masonry, and paint removal on secondary elevation brick. The Northwestern Glass Company Building at 219 2nd Street North is a contributing structure to the Minneapolis Warehouse Historic District.
Action: The Heritage Preservation Commission continued the Certificate of Appropriateness for the property located at 219 2nd St N to the August 20, 2013 Heritage Preservation Commission meeting.

2.   3022 Hennepin Avenue, Granada Theater Landmark (Suburban World Theater)

DRJ Architecture, Inc., on behalf of Elion Acquisitions, has applied for a Certificate of Appropriateness application to allow for interior and exterior modifications to the existing Suburban World Theater/Granada Theater, located at 3022 Hennepin Avenue. The building is a local landmark and the designation includes both the interior and exterior of the building. The modifications would allow for the structure to be converted to a retail use.
Action: The Heritage Preservation Commission continued the Certificate of Appropriateness for the property located at 3022 Hennepin Avenue to the August 6, 2013 Heritage Preservation Commission meeting.
