1. 5701 Oliver Avenue South (BZH #27756, Ward 13) (Hanauer)
Jeff Nicholson, with Quartersawn Design Build, has submitted a Demolition of Historic Resource application on behalf of Theordore Huseby and Matthew Farner, the property owners. The demolition of historic resource application is to allow for the demolition of the house at 5701 Oliver Avenue South. This property was identified as a contributing property of the Penn Model Village Addition Potential Residential Historic District in the 2011 historic resource inventory analysis of the Windom, Kenny, and Armatage neighborhoods.
Action: The Heritage Preservation Commission adopted staff findings and approved the demolition of the house at 5701 Oliver Avenue South.

2. 219 2nd Street North, Northwestern Glass Company (BZH #27769, Ward 7) (Hanauer)
Alex Haecker, with AWH Architects, has submitted a Certificate of Appropriateness application on behalf of 219 LLC, the property owner. The Certificate of Appropriateness application is to allow for a rehabilitation of the Northwestern Glass Company Building that includes the following proposed work: enlarge window openings and install new windows on a secondary elevation, new signage, repointing of masonry, and paint removal on secondary elevation brick. The Northwestern Glass Company Building at 219 2nd Street North is a contributing structure to the Minneapolis Warehouse Historic District.
Action: The Heritage Preservation Commission continued the application for a certificate of appropriateness to allow for a rehabilitation of the Northwestern Glass Company Building at 219 2nd Street North two cycles to the July 23, 2013, Heritage Preservation Commission public hearing.

3. 3022 Hennepin Avenue, Granada Theater Landmark (Suburban World Theater) (Farrar)
Continued from the June 4 Heritage Preservation Commission meeting.
Renovation and partial restoration of the Granada Theater. The project proposes to renovate the Granada Theater into a retail store and would include restoration of the exterior, removal of the kitchen area, restoration of the existing theater space walls and perimeter circulation, and introduction of a flat floor to facilitate retail store experience and center entry to the theater for visual connectedness.
Action: This application was withdrawn.
