Consent

1. Lead Safe Work Practices Training:

Accept grant award of $20,000 from Minnesota Department of Health to provide lead safe work practices training, including classes in Spanish; and Approve appropriation. (Refer to W&M/Budget)

Action Taken: Approved.

Discussion

2. Hydrothermal Engineering Feasibility Study – East Bank Energy Center:

Authorize staff to: a) execute a loan agreement with Schafer-Richardson Real Estate to provide $30,000 in loan funding for a hydrothermal preliminary engineering feasibility study; b) execute letters in support of funding applications for the East Bank Energy Center ( Refer to Comm Dev

Action Taken: Approved.

3. H1N1 Influenza:

Presentation on City planning for H1N1 pandemic influenza response; and
Approval of Statement of Ethics during a Severe Pandemic.

Action Taken: Approved; Report Received & Filed.

4. Emerald Ash Borer:

Subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 15, Chapter 399 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Offenses--Miscellaneous: Dutch Elm Disease, amending the Dutch Elm Ordinance to include any invasive tree pest (Ostrow).

Action Taken: Set public hearing for October 5th Meeting.

5. Emerald Ash Borer:

Subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 8, Chapter 160 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Consumer Protection: Weights and Measures, amending Section 160.255 regulating the sale, transportation or storage of Elmwood to include Ashwood and other wood infected or invested with an invasive tree pest (Ostrow).

Action Taken: Set public hearing for October 5th Meeting.

6. Emerald Ash Borer:

Subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 13, Chapter 347 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Licenses and Business Regulations: Tree Servicing, amending Section 347.10, to include under the definition of tree servicing the application of pesticides to trees in the list of services requiring a tree servicing license (Ostrow).

Action Taken: Set public hearing for October 5th Meeting.
