1. Public Health Advisory Committee Reappointments:
Approve the following reappointments to the Minneapolis Public Health Advisory Committee for two-year terms to expire December 31, 2015:
· Julie Ring (Ward 1)
· Birdie Cunningham (Ward 11)
· Autumn Chmielewski (Ward 12)
· Jennifer Pelletier (U of M School of Public Health Rep)
· Dan Brady (Member At-Large)
· Abdullahi Sheikh (Ward 8)
Action Taken: Approved, as amended, to include the appointment of Sahra Noor (Ward 2).
2. Teen Pregnancy Prevention Grant:
a) Authorize amendment to contract with Hennepin County to accept an additional $320,000, for a new contract total not to exceed $1,191,686, from a Federal Teen Pregnancy Prevention Grant; and
b) Increase appropriation and revenue estimate by $320,000. (Refer to W&M)

3. Environmentally Acceptable Packaging Ordinance:
Subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 10, Chapter 204 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Food Code: Environmental Preservation: Environmentally Acceptable Packaging, updating and amending various provisions. (by A. Johnson)
Requested Action/Action Taken: Set public hearing for May 12, 2014.
4. Keeping of Honeybees Ordinance:
Subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 4, Chapter 74 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Animals and Fowl: Miscellaneous Regulations, amending provisions related to the keeping of honeybees. (by Bender)
Requested Action/Action Taken: Refer to Animal Care & Control staff.
5. Minneapolis Tree Advisory Commission:
Receive and file Annual Report.
Action Taken: Received and filed. Directed the Minneapolis Tree Advisory Commission to return to the HE&CE Committee by June 2, 2014 with recommendations for appropriate uses for $443,140.34 from the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CTY02 City Property Reforestation) to maintain and increase tree canopy in Minneapolis, especially related to boulevards and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board land.
6. Healthy Living Initiative:
Receive and file presentation.
Action Taken: Received and filed.
7. Health Department Public Health Accreditation:
a) Receive and file presentation; and
b) Approve resolution supporting the pursuit of national accreditation status for the Minneapolis Health Department.
Action Taken: Approved.
