 5. 2012 General Election Report:
     Subject matter of policy recommendations outlined in the State Legislative Platform section of the report for consideration for inclusion in the 2013 state legislative agenda.
Elections Cmte Action Taken 12/3/2012:  Received & filed "2012 Presidential General Election:  An Analysis & Recommendations" report; referred policy recommendations; & approved directions to staff as follows:  1) Direct staff to work with Council Members and key community stakeholder groups as part of the proposed Elections Accessibility Plan recommended by the Elections Division to review all polling place locations to identify and address potential barriers and challenges, and to identify potential new locations, which can include more than one polling place per precinct or additional precincts, for the most problematic precincts that were identified in the analysis of the 2012 Presidential election; 2) Direct staff to meet with the County officials to clarify the timeline and process for the purchase of new equipment for the 2013 election and report back to the Elections Committee no later than February 22; 3) Direct staff to develop budget recommendations for funding the Elections Division for the elections after 2013, including 2014 and 2016, that would provide adequate resources for outreach, judge recruitment and training, and the implementation of other improvements outlined in the 2012 Presidential General Election report of December 3, 2012.
